My dad suffers from a malignant type cancer (mesothelioma), and he is on chemotherapy. It seems that everyday he becomes more angry and more agressive towards everybody. Is this due to his cancer or chemo? My mom and I are deeply saddened by his condition, but everyday he screams and yells at us for no reason. Is there something else that we can do to help him? I feel even more sorry for my mom because she is the one who receives the most insults by my dad. I see her cry everyday because of that.
can we do?

Hello, These symptoms started about 2 or 3 months ago, after walking for several miles. I am 64, and have shortness of breath that comes on once or twice a day, as well as coughing up flem. I've been to the heart doctor and he says my heart is fine. Nothing has showed up on my chest x rays. I have been exposed to asbestus in my work, years ago. I have an appointment with a lung doctor in a couple of weeks.
have any ideas? Asbestosis and mesothelioma, come to mind, but I was told those should have shown up on the chest x ray from my family doctor.

My friend has got mesothelioma from working with asbestos. We have looked about for info on whether we can claim compensation. I found this site that has some good links to compensation companies: allaboutmesothelioma.net63.net The thing is, on them websites it says he can claim between £300,000 £1,000,000! Is this right? Are these sorts of sites trustworthy? Does anyone have experience in this area? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

a relative of mines moved to Lanzarote almost 3 years ago. He has recently been diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma, a quite rare type of cancer. He now wishes to come home, but almost no airlines will allow him on the flight with oxygen.
anyone know of anywhere that can help? From a charity to a major airline, he will do anything to get home, as the average time for survival of this type of cancer is 9 months. He has had this for 8 months, so there is a certain sense of urgency about this.
help. Thanks Firstly, the flight is not to the US, as it says in those big bold letters up top. secondly, I chose to put the question to the community as most people are quite resourceful and helpful, unlike you who is being very unhelpful and unfriendly. If you dont like the question, or think its silly or whatever do not answer it.

And if so, do you know how they were exposed to asbestos or if anybody else in their family had mesothelioma too? My mom died a few years ago from this disease and we don't know how she was exposed, so just trying to get information.
was actually a surgical nurse for 30 years.
hospital she worked at was always being renovated as it was very old, but we don't know if that is how she was exposed or not. I am just hoping that it is not some random genetic thing that is completely un-related to asbestos.

Although exposure to asbestos is the primary cause of mesothelioma, a slow-developing cancer, researchers believe that infection by the SV40 virus is a contributing cause, since in the United States 60 percent of tissue samples from mesotheliomas, but none from healthy tissue, contain SV40 please see the above para.
the meaning of "since in the United States 60 percent of tissue samples from mesotheliomas, but none from healthy tissue, contain SV40" ? i am confusing as the para has too many commas.
it want to say 60 percent of tissue samples contain SV40

I have contracted an asbestos related tumour which am informed was dormant and could have been inhaled over 40 years ago.I was the second person on site when an Victor bomber crashed on take off in 1962 I spent over two hours at this site with all debris and chemicals etc but wasn't aware if this could have been where I may have got Mesothelioma. I served many years in the Royal Air Force joining at age 15 But my trade was Telegraphist. It just happened that this crash happened as I was coming off duty in Akrotiri. I have never worked with this stuff knowlngly but do know that RAF Cosford Billets were heated and lagged with asbestos etc and I spent almost two years in such accomodation also at Bletchley where the heating was sparse to say the least and tug of war between us and the displaced people trying to survive at this time.Any help would be most appreciated
